HOW VEHICLE AWARENESS TRIPLED TAYLIN’S INCOME

Don't be fooled. This email is not about your car’s extended warranty. That's the other one.

Not Your Average Canadian

Ever heard of Taylin John Simmonds? For those who haven’t, let’s take it back a few steps.

Ever heard of Dan Koe? Okay. You know his friend Dakota Robertson?

Perfect. You know the person Dakota Robertson coached? The answer is Taylin John Simmonds.

A few years ago, he was a full-time college professor making $30K per year after taxes, and then also ghostwrote electronic music for a brief period.

Fast forward to now, he is making his annual salary in a month while traveling the world with his friends, all from a computer. Classic digital nomad sh*t.

But how in the world is it possible to make THAT much money, with such ease?

Well, we’re discrediting it a little bit. It’s not exactly easy. The better question is how is it possible to make that much without selling your soul?

It’s Not

We have bad news. Taylin sold his soul.

Just kidding. Lighthearted joke. He is most certainly not evil. He actually achieved this through a conversation in an elevator, believe it or not.

But before we get to that, let me tell you how most people see business and money making, since you asked.

It’s very black and white. You do things, you get results, you keep doing the thing. Our life in general works a lot like this.

We stay within our boundaries, and often our beliefs aren’t challenged until we see someone else living a better life with less friction, and all of a sudden we want that life instead.

That is where Taylin found himself when he was in this elevator with Dakota Robertson and some friends. Taylin was telling them how much work he put into delivering for his client.

Every waking second that he was not at his actual job, he would drive 10 hours to this client, then back home.

Ya know what, let’s just get in the elevator with them.

“Ohh, my gooood dude, that was hilarious,” Liam Kircher said.

”I know,” said Spencer The Wash Boss. “Dakota had his ass out in every picture”

Dakota smiled proudly. “Boys, it’s not a true Dakota vacation if my ass isn’t in at least one picture.”

They all nodded in agreement. They knew he was right. Everyone got serious.

It was as if, as they rose up the floors, they began to switch back into money-making mode.

Liam broke the silence saying, “Yeah man, making money is pretty easy. I just close hundreds of thousands per month. It’s on autopilot now.”

Dakota chimed in. “Yeah, I’m doing pretty good.” Spencer chimed in too. “I’ve always kinda made good money in business.”

Taylin didn’t really feel that way at the time. While he was a college teacher, he did these creative real estate deals.

During covid, while his boss thought he was working at home, he would drive to a city 10 hours away, checking his phone every 30 minutes to see if his boss was texting.

He would do the creative work, help with renovations, create a deal structure, etc. Then his boss would need him for a meeting, so he would drive 10 hours back a few days later, and go back and forth and back and forth.

All for 12 grand. Canadian.

Success Is Easy

The guys in the elevator all stared at him with slight smirks, as if he was some kind of extraterrestrial being that amused them.

“Why are you making success so hard,” one of them said. “It’s not that hard to make money. Just choose a better vehicle.”

Did you catch that? The valuable lesson right there. Do you ever notice there are a lot of people who work their ass off, but don’t get compensated as much?

Ever hear people talk about how much sports players make, and they talk about how unfair it is? Perhaps, but you gotta respect the game, figuratively and literally.

They found something that they could put in an input, and get out 100x. You can work just as hard in your job and make 100x less, because you chose the wrong vehicle.

So this whole time, you may have been duped in the business world.

The “Work Hard” Myth

Look, we’re not saying don’t work hard at what you do. But the truth is, you can work pretty damn hard at the wrong thing and live paycheck to paycheck.

If you’re gonna work hard, you may as well make a fat income. Or ease of the gas and make a decent income.

No matter what way you take it, a better vehicle is needed. You can go full speed ahead, or follow the speed limit, and still make more than your average Joe.

Don’t think about money as needing to work hard. Rather, think about money in terms of what skills you have to learn and how much leverage can you deploy to make the most amount of money with the least amount of effort.

Here’s an example. Someone works all day, and all night. They have been instilled with the idea of hard work. Good trait to have, in some cases.

Then there is another someone. Someone who works 4 hour days, online. Makes a nice income. Can travel around. Enjoy some time with his dog in the sunlight. Ya know, wholesome things.

Why is it that Person A works hard, and lives in stress? It all comes down to their vehicle.

No matter how hard they work, they have a gap. Perhaps if the ease of the gas, they make less.

So stop thinking in terms of intensity of work. You can bring intensity to work. Actually, if you combine intense hard work with the right vehicle, prepare to be rich.

But realize the vehicle is …well a vehicle. Like an actual car. Hard work is like pushing your vehicle up a steep hill.

Picking the right vehicle is like being in the car, rolling down a hill, foot off the gas.

The vehicle is doing the work for you.
